Let’s face it, life is hectic and with the arrival of your new baby it is about to get a lot more intense. So, with all of the planning and prepping for your baby, don’t forget to include a little pampering for yourself.
Besides the normal things that come to mind when you think about a “Spa Day”, studies show that things like a massage or a facial can have tremendous benefits during your pregnancy. Sure, you’ll feel fantastic and if that were the only benefit, it would be enough, but there are others, such as, reducing anxiety, decreasing depression, relieving muscle aches and joint pain, along with improving your health and the health of your newborn.
“Life is all about balance. You don’t always need to be getting stuff done. Sometimes it’s perfectly okay, and absolutely necessary, to shut down, kick back, and do nothing”
There are different types of massage therapies to address different issues. First, make sure and discuss it with your prenatal care provider to see what is best for you. Next, set time aside to treat yourself to a day of pampering and relaxation to get ready for the busy days ahead.
There is no time like the present to take time out to relax, pamper yourself and enjoy the moment. After all, you’re worth it and you certainly deserve it!
The truth is it can be overwhelming when you think of all the things on our to-do lists. Your pregnancy is the one time that it’s okay to put the list down and de-stress with something that will allow you to unplug and escape if for only a few moments.
Know When to Say When
It sounds simple, but for most of us it’s easier said than done. We feel compelled to get as much checked off of our list as possible, in the least amount of time. If that’s you, stop. Slow down and give yourself and your baby the gift of rest. Once you do, you can recharge and accomplish more than you ever could being exhausted.
So, make it a point to schedule time for you and treat yourself to an enjoyable, relaxing moment. You can thank us later!
